Nicola is no stranger to our love for all shades of green, especially when dressing the table. Her table settings are unmatched in layered, elegant perfection, especially when our Ginori x Cabana signature styles are in the spotlight. Shop her picks with her exclusive Avenue discount today.
Our neighbor, Devon Liedtke, has a style sensibility all her own, the defining characteristic we seek in all our Carte Blanche contributors.
Her stint studying design in Europe coupled with launching Paloma & Co. alongside local interior powerhouse Paloma Contreras has informed her debut personal endeavor, The DL, a digital inspiration platform + creative services business.
When digging a little deeper with Devon, we discovered her mom is her greatest source of inspiration and her two girls (identical twins, Elle & Liv!) love lending a helping hand to set the table. She's no stranger to the make-it-work moments required to run her own biz and raise three little ones.
A mom who inspires you? My mom. Possibly the most thoughtful person I know. We celebrated every moment worthy of celebration as I grew up. A lost tooth, valentine's day, birthday months. It was a very joyful childhood and I have no doubt that influenced the way I mother and live life.
Tell us your kids names & ages! Elle and Liv (identical twins! 4.5) and Jack (almost 2)
What's a unique tradition your family has to celebrate life's special moments? Oh man! That is a great question. Nothing specific comes to mind here, Just relishing in all being together and celebrating the big and small moments in life - birthdays, recitals, spelling a word right for the first time, trying something new- all special little moments.
Do your kids play a part in your biz? LZ's love helping her set the table, are yours following in your footsteps in any way? YES! The girls love helping me from shopping for food and flowers to arranging flowers, cooking, and setting the table. They have a lot of opinions, and my husband loves to tell me the apple didn't fall far from the tree there! As for Jack, we adore you buddy, but we keep our little Dennis the Menace away from the table at the moment! He joins when it's time to eat!
Current color crush: White
Eternal style muse: My kids
Best part of your business/job: A few things come to mind here. First, being creative and getting to follow that everyday. I love that no two days are the same. Second, creating my own schedule that allows flexibility to work and to be a mom. You will often find me at all my kid's activities in the afternoon's and then you can often find me in my office late into the night. I cherish being a mom and having my own business. Lots of make it work moments!
Your happy place: No questions asked, the outdoors. In nature is where I am happiest. oh, so very virgo!
Film you’ve seen more times than you care to admit: Already feel the judgement here, but definitely Dumb and Dumber. My husband and I can quote that movie front and back. Just two truly sophisticated people that love the dumbest move ever! T-t-true love, folks.
Avenue must-have: Everything on this table!
Favorite Houston haunt: The Menil
Something few people know: I am very into signs! You can find me kissing the clock when I catch 11:11 on the clock everyday.
A quote or mantra to sum up your current style mood: Authenticity.
Our fridge is never without: Nutpods! I rely heavily on nutpods for my morning coffees and afternoon cold brews.
Wouldn’t it be cool if: we didn't let fear hold us back from our full potential!
Drink of choice: Coffee, water, red wine. repeat.
& lastly, tell us what's next on the DL? eek! Lately I have been working with a lot of amazing brands, and I have loved creating content for them and putting my own spin on their products. Of course, I also love creating my own content with my own POV for the DL and working with clients in different ways from design help to styling. Just being creative everyday in different ways is so rewarding. As for up next, there is a lot on the horizon that I am working and trying to bring to life both personally and professionally. I guess I am keeping it on the DL, until it's on the DL! See what I did there?
Morning, Noon & Night is back, and we're kicking things off with NOLA-based style maven, Juley Thuy Le. Juley is the founder of Pepper Planner, a mobile app that helps women manage personal projects and tasks. She always has a creative project up her sleeve; her portfolio includes founding a chic affogatto bar and beloved blog, Femme Next Door. The site uncovers the good life through original features, thoughtful editorials, and distinctive styling. It’s about celebrating the good life, with a little French finesse, all without leaving your backyard.
We’d be remiss to not call out the registry essentials, but we like to think our options are a notch above the local shop with the china room you grew up perusing. Table lamps are the new towel sets and French linens that puddle underneath the table in true European fashion are just a few of the standbys our stylish bride can ask for.
Put yourself in the gift giver’s shoes — you’ve been there before and oftentimes, it’s a bore. Make your wish list one that is a reflection of you and yours so the purchaser feels inspired by the style they select and mentally notes, ‘oh, this is *so* [insert your new last name]’. Nobody wants to have déja vu when swiping their card for someone else for the 7th time this year; champion small artisans (cue Pomelo Casa, Loulou La Dune & Maison Margaux) for a fresh spin on the everyday essentials.
In fact, it’s everyday. I’m sure some gasp when they see Ritz crackers on our Oriente Italiano, but I’ve discovered my most well-made dishes are also the most durable. Dishwasher-safe? Check. No scratches, no chips, no streaks. No longer are your finest wares collecting dust in a cabinet, and I sure hope that movement has staying power. Your more mature guests will love to see it on your registry, and your children will appreciate their vintage plates by the time their wedding bells ring.
Serving pieces are the pièce de resistance for all registries — they’re memorable, stunners to unwrap and one never had too many when playing host. Plus, they’re usually a one-and-done item so your gift will stand apart from the rest of the guest list.
Our guess is you have visions of sugarplum soirées, the coolest card night on the block and afternoon tea making a comeback under your roof. So, make something of the vision in your mind and ensure you have the proper tools on your registry to make it all come to fruition post nuptials. Better yet, circle a date on the calendar and make an evening out of rehashing wedding memories and reviewing photos and videos with your VIPs for something to look forward to after the honeymoon.
We’re bias because it’s also our favorite, but for those struggling to select their hero china pattern, we promise no regrets with a primarily green pattern. Chistmas Eve? Checks the box. Spring garden soirée? Done & done. If you’re convinced, cue our best-selling Ginori x Cabana Magazine charger in a perfect hue and handpainted white florals.
(A.K.A. The 14-Piece Rule)
Our hope is that your partner in everyday crime will love you no matter what you set the table with, so you really want to pull out all the stops when company arrives. Extended family, neighbors, work folks alike — these counts can get in the teens fast, so stock up on more of the pieces you already have to be sure there’s plenty to go around come party time. Don’t see something on our site? Drop us a line, and our buyers will be all over it.

Calling our next Carte Blanche tastemaker: Chloe Adelia Watts founder and CEO of Chloedigital.
The tasteful eye and beautiful design behind the bespoke tree skirt was Alex Stillwell & Mary Groves of Houston interiors firm, SG Interior Design. Both founders felt there was (and is!) a void in the marketplace for special, affordable skirts to adorn our trees every December.
So, they put their fabric sourcing hats on to create something that fit the bill and fortunately called on their friend Lyndsey who shared this same white space sentiment to debut the edit only on The Avenue. Lyndsey and team SG teed up the vintage fabrications and trims earlier this fall, including an iconic Colefax & Fowler chintz and archived but much beloved Schumacher prints having a resurgence for the merriest season.
The response thus far has been resounding and echoed the impetus for this project that there are many trees looking for a new dress as the centerstage of our home come the final month of the year.
We dressed our showroom tree in the Brunschwig & Fils ikat in a poppy Christmas color story of pinks and greens and love the way it reads against a pile of presents and the traditional pine of the tree.
The unanimous favorite amongst our team and Mary and Alex? The Victorian quilt finished in a gorgeous chocolate brown velvet for a truly distinctive outfit to rock around the Christmas tree.
Tory Burch used the same fabrication on a chaise lounge in her city apartment and have no doubt the skirt would the piéce de resistance to your December decor for years to come.
Visit Alex & Mary's interior design Instagram to see more of their fresh spin on home spaces and potentially new product in the pipeline for the new year. X
]]>This fall, we had the pleasure of joining Veronica Beard’s team at an intimate dinner here in Houston in celebration of their new collection at their local storefront. The Swanson sister has shopped on The Avenue a time or two to stock her East coast home with dishes and glassware for the company she keeps on weekends, so we gabbed about the blazer that started it all, the new age of entertaining and what we think is the future for storefronts. Cue the lady leading that effort at VB, Agee, their Senior Brand Visual Manager, making her way around the country to ensure each space meets the always chic standards of their brick-and-mortars here, there and everywhere. We knew such a title meant she had a keen eye and great taste, so over dessert, she and our Editorial Director determined she’d be slated for the next Carte Blanche.
Current color crush: I never fall out of love with olive green - happy yet neutral.
Eternal style muse: Really depends if I'm in a minimalist or maximalist mood but if I must pick one I'm going with Jane Birkin.
An under-the-radar Instagram feed that’s a total treasure trove: @jujuveravintage, a vintage jewelry curation by my sweet friend Julia Ferentino!
Best part of your job: The travel and friendship! I'd say my team fully embodies the "work hard, play hard" mentality!!
Your happy place: A Fall day frolicking around Montauk...it doesn't get any better.
Film you’ve seen more times than you care to admit: It's a tie between Center Stage or Now and Then.
Avenue must-have: Themis Z espresso cups!! I adore the brightness these bring to my morning coffee.
Favorite Montauk haunt: I could seriously eat 3 meals a day at Crow's Nest. Sign me up for a lobster fettuccine, peppercorn daisy (the best spicy pineapple tequila situation) and cap off the night with a stunning sunset over Lake Montauk.
Something few people know: I grew up unicycling - thanks Montessori!
A quote or mantra to sum up your current style mood: Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.
Our fridge is never without: My fridge is confused if it wants to be dairy free or not! You can always find multiple varieties of oat milks and cheeses.
Wouldn’t it be cool if: Good memories would never fade.
Holiday drink of choice: A cozy glass of bordeaux by the fire.
Amanda Jones Vaughan came across our radar this spring, and ICYM her expertly curated Avenue edit, there’s more where her fashion-forward eye came from in this month’s edition of Carte Blanche. The VIP Client Relations Manager at Net-a-Porter’s closet is always a cut above the rest, so when she asked to set the table with us, we quickly obliged. Here, she showcases not one but two expertly set ‘scapes with different color stories but the same stylish standard she spoils us with on her stories daily. Her high-low mix is at play just like with her looks, and several of her picks are now a part of the summer Final Few edit. Escape to the rooftops of Manhattan for her fresh spin on al fresco and then step inside her apartment where she serves up a funky twist on feminine.
Current color crush: Forever a green gal, but returning to rich browns lately.
Eternal style muse: My mama.
An under-the-radar Instagram feed that’s a total treasure trove: @gingerjarlampco is, as you can guess, a ginger jar lamp dream. And not too much of a secret but you can't help but smile following @hillhousevintage.
Best part of your business: Meeting our wonderful clients throughout the country (and globe!) and getting to see what NET-A-PORTER means to them - how fashion can play such a vital role both in their everyday lives and their happiest, biggest moments and that we can help make that possible.
Your happy place: Blessed to have a few but currently cannot wait for bar seats at a crowded NYC haunt having a late dinner and one too many martinis.
Film you’ve seen more times than you care to admit: Will never not want to watch The Sound of Music (and those curtain clothes make my heart skip a beat in a whole new way these days!) although I can also probably relay Three Ninjas scene by scene thanks to my brothers.
Avenue must-have: I constantly reach for my green striped linen tablecloth from Summerill and just stocked up on the matching napkins. Stunning color, quality and they are oh so subtly scented- making setting the table just a bit more magical.
Favorite NYC haunt: I have a laundry list of favorites but my husband and I have gone to Raoul's for our anniversary and Christmas for almost a decade now. Steak frites, the burger, martinis- nothin better.
Coffee table book of choice: I gifted "Snapshots of Dangerous Women" to all of my bridesmaids, mom and mother in law before our wedding, "Beige is Not a Color" is beautiful book of interior inspiration and the title serves as a fab style mantra, Beata Heuman's "Every Room Should Sing" has magic on every page, and I will never not want to live in the world of Slim Aarons.
A quote or mantra to sum up your current style mood: "Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn" - Gore Vidal.
Our fridge is never without: Hu Kitchen Chocolate and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream for a forever sweet tooth.
Never leave the house without: Amanda Brooks' book "Always Pack A Party Dress" is a fun read but an even better reminder- whether on my person or in my bag, a fun frock is typically coming with me out the door.... just in case!

As a long-time follower and Internet friend of Lindsey, I was thrilled she agreed to set the table with us as we passed through her hometown of Charlotte, the first stop of our summer pop-up series. In keeping with her contagiously cheerful style, her sun-drenched patio was beaming with layered prints and a vibrant color story that epitomized the summer moments we all crave. I couldn’t help but pick her brain on her beauty secrets, and she divulged a few favorites in our Q&A below. Above all, I share the exact sentiment she had that the best part of this business is connecting with other creatives and “learning what beauty means to women in all different fields and stages of life.” Her definition is one worth taking note of, so enjoy her take on making meals memories and should you find yourself in Aspen next week, come see us! Details below.
In between running Swan Beauty and raising her two kids, Lindsey uncovers Amazon treasures like these under-$200 bamboo folding chairs, a perfect back-stock style when you need to pull up a few extra seats.

Summer drink of choice: Ketel One Botanicals vodka, soda water/lacroix, splash of grapefruit, and a squeeze of lime!
Current beauty favorite obsession: Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream
Step foot into Charlotte Lucas’ home and you’ll instantly take note of her recognizable style drawing on bold colors and whimsical details, the cornerstones of her namesake interiors firm headquartered in North Carolina. A fun and fresh nook that rings true to her current style mantra: more is more.
In the words of Charlotte herself, more is more! We love her combination of Ginori dinner plates and our Avenue exclusive woven placemats. Take a note out of Charlotte's rule book and mix and match to your heart's desire here.

Schitt's Creek served us well until it closed its iconic sitcom doors with season six, and we all need filler television before The Crown season four debuts in 2022. Cue our favorite spring and summer leisure label, Mille, with its inspiring list of films to turn to as part of their #MilleMovieClub highlight reel on IG.
New titles are added almost weekly, and these are not the new and noteworthy but rather the tried-and-true stand-bys, which admittedly, I had not seen nearly half of, and I trust you'll discover the same.
In a world driven on new content (guilty as charged!), it's easy to forget about the decades of film making and cinema classics that inspired today's hits.

]]>So often, limitations and constraints provide for some of the best creative moments. Such was the case when our trunk show, market and photo shoot travel calendar came to a screeching halt about this time last year. Our world of tastemakers was opened up as we discovered we could send our tablewares near and far.
For this month, we were able to be on location again with local interior designer, Libba Blalock. Her home decor sensibilities translated to her tabletop vision beautifully, and we think it's the perfect scene to put spring in your step as we officially enter the season this Saturday. Shop the scene by clicking the (+) plus-signs below and viewing her Avenue edit here.
Libba is known for her approachable yet sophisticated interiors, and her love for vintage and antique pieces. Her Easter Sunday setting draws on her favorite color combination -- blues and greens -- for a table that easily lends itself to #makemealsmemories celebrations well beyond April Fourth.
Libba's love of vintage and antique pieces can be seen showcased with her gorgeous white porcelain goblets and leaf dishes. She also cleverly decorated the table with vintage marble eggs, an elegant and understated nod to the holiday. Mixing vintage in always provide interest and conversation-starting styles; here are some of our favorite treasures available on the site: these floral plates and crystal carafe from the French antique label, Madame de la Maison.
The not-so-behind-the-scenes set assistant, Mae, is the Blalock family's newest addition and we couldn't love her more. Place cards were made by the lovely Nancy Bihlmaier (@nancyb.creative) and delicately placed in these timeless bamboo holders ($12).
We love the way Libba added texture and character to the table with the layering of plates and patterns. There's something special about combining traditional and modern patterns, as seen here with the our favorite Ginori & Libba's personal marble chargers. Cocktail napkins were made by Hibiscus Linens, monogrammed with the Blalock family B. Shop our Hibiscus edit here.
Who said that the kids table had to be boring? We love Libba's choice of kid-proof melamine plates and gingham flatware. All of which are dish-washer safe, a kids-table necessity. Shop the scene by clicking the (+) plus-signs below and viewing her Avenue edit here.
Pleasure having you on The Avenue, Libba, and we hope you and your family have a fabulous Easter Sunday. You can follow Libba at @libbablalockinteriors for inspiring interiors and puppy content. xx
