Ajiri Aki is the founder of Madame de la Maison, a lifestyle brand all about helping you create moments and memories, which couldn't coincide with our #makemealsmemories mission more. Ajiri has created a brand for people who are tired of the standard uninspiring offerings and want stylish antiques and linens for tabletops that impress and bring a sense of joy. We were thrilled when Ajiri agreed to set the table for us in her incredible Parisian apartment. We can only hope to one day meet in person and have a bite to eat over her linens and Avenue favorite finds. Check out our little Q&A and shop her Avenue favorites below! xx
Q&A with Ajiri
///
Current color crush: I am loving a sage and dusty rose combo.
Eternal style muse: Not a person really but more a style, which is everything Madame Grès designed during her heyday. She was a brilliant Parisian couturier.
An under-the-radar Instagram feed that’s a total treasure trove: I get sucked into @messynessychic. You can’t help but start clicking around on so many interesting stories.
Best part of your business: Flea market shopping!
Your happy place: Provence
Film you’ve seen more times than you care to admit: The Talented Mr. Ripley and Alfonso Cuaron’s Great Expectations.
Favorite Paris haunt: Kunitoraya
Something few people know: My middle name, Arlowyne, is Welsh. It means freedom lover, joyful, and hardworking.
A quote or mantra to sum up your current style mood: “Fashion fades, style is eternal.” - Yves Saint Laurent
Our fridge is never without: Every Asian food condiment you can imagine and Jamaican jerk seasoning.
Wouldn’t it be cool if: We could travel back in time whenever we wanted to?
