One of the things I've loved the most about summer so far is the extra time I get with the girls during the weekdays. I didn't overload the agenda with a lot of daytime camps and activities this summer. The kids are pretty scheduled during the school year, it's nice to just wake up and create our own adventure! Last week we bopped from the park, to a Sid Mashburn to lunch and the River Oaks book store and it was really fun! Traffic is light because who really wants to sweat it out in Houston?! Ha! So for those of us who are in town, dressing for the blistering heat is essential.
We're entering into the hottest weather months of the year in Houston, really the only outfit that is cool enough is a wet bathing suit poolside! When I have to be in public I'm living in lightweight tees and shorts and flowy dresses. Today's top is great because it's soft t-shirt material but has a pretty print and flutter sleeve, so it could be dressed up too. I've been really into higher waisted shorts lately. This high waisted button down short is super lightweight and an easy neutral color too. The pleats are flattering and they're longer than a lot of shorts I've tried.
