Meg Grant and I recently put our creative heads together again (our first collaboration was this dinner party), this time to come up with an easy go-to outdoor entertaining tablescape. My goal was to come up with a simple, organic tablescape that works for pretty much any season. It's so nice to have a go-to dinner party tablecape in your entertaining arsenel. Something that's easy to pull off, even if it's a last minute occasion. I'm all about coming up with new and different ideas, but it's smart to have something easy and pretty in your back pocket. Kind of like your go-to outfit that you can throw on without even thinking about it and feel put together. A go-to tablescape makes entertaining on the fly easy and stress free.
- stick to a neutral color palette | I use my everyday white plates and silverware and mix in a soft neutral salad plate and napkins to add a little color and variety to the table. A neutral placemat works for any season.
- choose flowers that are always in season | I can find white hydrangeas year round and they are soft and pretty with greenery.
- keep it simple, but special | I love place cards at a dinner party, they add such a special touch. Meg made the placards for this tablescape, but they are easy to re-create {here's a tutorial}. Or you can buy a deckled edge place card in bulk here and keep on hand.
